Chuck Cureau
Whale trainer, actor, Karaoke champion, and now co-host of Skunked TV! Chuck Cureau enjoys a life that most people only dream about.
Born to a military family, Chuck traveled the world as a child and has lived in Greece, England, and all over the United States. As a teen living in Europe, he was the host of his own radio show, Chuck's Corner, on the Armed Forces Radio Network. After settling in San Antonio, Texas, he studied television journalism and acting, and performed in high school and college plays and speech events. To take a step closer towards his lifelong goal of becoming an actor and television personality, Chuck took a job as a tour guide at a zoological theme park in order to practice his public speaking skills. While there, he became fascinated with and saw the benefits of training animals to educate and entertain the public. After much soul-searching, he decided to make a career change, taught himself to swim at the age of 21, and took a job as a whale and dolphin trainer. During his 15-year career working with animals, Chuck not only trained and performed with whales and dolphins, but also with sea lions, walruses, otters and birds, as well as many terrestrial animals.
No stranger to television, Chuck has appeared in dozens of local and national television commercials, industrial films and radio spots, and appears regularly on San Antonio's PBS station, assisting with fund raising. His animal experiences and acting/speaking skills lead to appearances with animals on The Howie Mandel Show, The All New Captain Kangaroo Show, and countless video new releases. He has hosted three Motivational Productions character-building educational films that specialize in helping school-aged children with everyday challenges.
