Born and raised in New York, Scott's design sensibility has been sculpted by art and creativity around him. Scott graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a degree in graphic design, and then moved on to design fabrics for his family's clothing business. Next he did stints as an interior decorator, a copywriter, a bartender and ran his own mail order "Home and Garden" catalog business.
But it was a chance encounter on the set of a Marky Mark music video that would change his path forever. A friend needed some last-minute help on set and Scott fell into the role of a prop assistant. From that day on, he began to build his new career as a set designer. Over the next ten years he worked with some of the biggest directors in music video, for stars such as Whitney Houston, N'Sync, Mariah Carey, De La Sol, and Brandy, and built sets for commercials starring Brad Pitt, Jerry Seinfeld, Roseanne and Martha Stewart — just to name a few.
Along the way he has become an accomplished carpenter, painter, special effects creator and problem solver. Scott sees his role on Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls as the perfect job, combining his TV production experience, over-the-top style and secret desire to teach and inspire the next generation of young artists.
