Gold Record

Your record has gone gold!
Materials:

An old record that no one wants anymore
A picture frame that's about 16" x 20"
A can of gold spray paint
A few pictures of yourself
Black paper about the same size as your frame
Pencil
Glue
Old newspaper or a tarp

Optional: A computer with image-editing software A printer Step by Step

  Materials
Step 1

Lay out your old newspapers or tarp outside so you don't make a mess and spray one side of your record gold. You only have to paint one side because the other side will not be seen. Let the record dry.
  Step 1
Step 2

See what household object best matches the circumference of the record label. We found that a roll of duct tape did the trick. Next, get out a piece of paper and trace the circumference of your object. Now you have a new label for your record! It's time to use your imagination. Do you want to use a picture of yourself as the label? If so, use your object again and trace a circle around the picture you want to use. Cut around your trace so your photograph is now circular. Glue the photo onto the paper, and the paper on top of the old record label.

Or, use your paper circle and list out the name of your album and the songs and tracks. When you're finished, glue the paper on top of the old record label.

Note: You can also create your label using a computer if you want.
  Step 2
Step 3

Cut the black sheet of paper so that it's the same size as your picture frame. Glue the paper to the frame's backboard so that the black is the background of your picture. Think about where you want to put the record. When you've decided, glue it in place on top of the black paper. While it's drying, pick out another photograph or other information about your record you would like to have in the picture. Glue in place and let everything dry.
  Step 3
Step 4

Once it's dry, ask an adult to put the picture frame back together again and have him or her mount the picture in a place you've agreed upon.
  Step 4
Step 5

Congratulations! You're now a rock star with a gold record!
