Materials
molding clay: to avoid using the oven, get the self-firing kind (note: it hardens in the air)
clay utensils
metallic paint
paintbrushes
scissors
rolling pin
ribbon


Step by Step

Step 1

Ball up the clay into a circle, and roll out the clay with the rolling pin.

Step 2

Using the clay utensils, etch a number (1, 2, 3) on the circle.

Step 3

With a small piece of extra clay, create a loop at the top of the medal to string the ribbon through. Let the clay harden for a day.

Step 4

Paint the clay with the metallic paint (gold, silver, bronze), and let the paint air-dry and the clay harden for several hours.

Cut the ribbon to the desired length to tie around the medal.

Step 6

When the medal is dry, loop the ribbon through the opening on the top and tie in a knot. You are ready to wear your medal!
