Josie Trent, a feisty, independent–thinking girl, is deposited at Blake Holsey High by her mother. At first, it seems like a normal private prep school. But soon strange things start happening, and by the end of her first day, Josie is caught up in an event that defies the most fundamental laws of physics. And then, maybe even stranger, kids in the nerdy science club become the in–crowd as they use the scientific method to get to the bottom of a series of bizarre events.

What's going on? Is all of this somehow related to a tragic industrial accident that occurred next to the school 15 years ago?
